Kitchen, Living, and Atrium Spaces
The design team adopted a neutral palette and minimalist approach to revitalize the kitchen, living area, and atrium. This strategy not only modernized the apartment but also highlighted the buildingโs original architectural features. The atrium, serving as a central focal point, was meticulously designed to enhance natural light and create a sense of openness throughout the living spaces.
Primary Suite
In the primary suite, the layout was reimagined to improve functionality and aesthetics. Full-height walls were introduced to enclose the space, eliminating the need for ceilings and revealing the character-filled sawtooth roof and large windows. A substantial fixed window was added to the void wall in the bedroom, providing much-needed natural light to the dining room below. The ensuite was expanded by relocating existing bathroom and laundry areas, allowing for a spacious bathroom featuring a double vanity, separate shower, and toilet areas. The suite boasts a calming essence with its soft, natural palette, including plush wool carpets, full-height porcelain tiles, and Santa Monica Limestone benchtops.
Throughout the renovation, careful attention was given to preserving the buildingโs historical character while introducing modern conveniences and design elements, resulting in a timeless and functional living space.
